Boise Syms-York 1910 First Edition Hardcover Fair- No Jacket Book
Ex-library. We will attempt, given the book's cost, to describe all flaws, major and minor, as well as its stronger points. Exterior binding done in library style, exterior hinging and boards good, not severely bumped, some abrasion, library code spine. In my opinion, the endsheets and pastedowns, front and back, have been replaced, those gutters are reinforced with library hinge tape. Library pocket and due sheet on first pastedown and endpaper respectively. Title page has library stamping and notes, short tape repair, as does tissue oversheet. This page and the first page of the preface have one inch and one and one half inch tears, respectively. Balance of text has some dogearing, the occasional library stamp, not at all badly marked except few light pen marks, as by a child, to the text's foredge. All this said, and there are a number of other minor issues (trace of red spray, top edge), the text is sound, the binding holding well, marking minimal. Page 285 has a chip out, half the width of the margin and an inch long, as while as a quarter-inch tear, text unaffected. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. We assure the buyer that books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. *
